Sorry Fred Don't like it either. I had a mod screen on my PX, it upset the handling, took it off much better. But each to his own.

You corksucker Fred messing with my post (ooer mrs!)

Just face it Fred the whole Weller/Mod party is over!!

They used to have these Rockabilly conventions at Butlins and stuff not so long back, probably still do for all I know

Can you remember when you were a kid seeing all the dads/uncles or whatever with their fat bellies and greased back quiffs, all these 60-70 year old teddy boys ... well this is the farce that is going on now with our generation!!! These Moddy boys who are aged - it just makes me laf that's all, I cant be the only one surely who thinks this when they see a 50yr old with a moddy haircut with a belly etc sat on an old scooter pretending to be 16 again.

What I'm worried about is the fact that the so called scooter scene is becoming like this, you know flight jackets etc. Its like some sort of dress code or uniform, what next the scooter version of the Sealed Knot Society re-enacting the battle scenes of Brighton Beaches!

I'm not a mod.
I don't wear a parka.
nor a flight jacket.

full bike gear for me and the screen is for function and also a little bit of remembering 70's northern mods(ask ScooterStu  )

just happen to love Weller, not everyones cup of splosh but so what :D

I am an old(thirty eight) Mod!! always will be :D it is a way of life!
But!! I don't ride round in flight jackets and parka's!
I think I dress right for my age, without trying to look like I'm 17/18 again! and the hairstyle has deffo gone for a burton(naturally) :P

And Weller just does his thing! he's not really interested in being the big rock/pop star these days! he's been there and done it
If you don't like his music, then don't buy it is the easy answer!!!!

Blimey you two wind up easy

Actually i dont mind some of Weller's music   I'm just using him as an example of what appears to me as some sort of narrow vision by some scooter riders. Each to their own

Not wound up buddy! just giving you my take on things
I do get a little miffed when us older guy's get slated for still having a passion for scooters and the scene in general! and as far as I can see, there's normally more older guy's on rallies than youngsters! maybe we're just more hardy eh?
Lets not forget! without the Mod movement there would never have been the whole scooterist/boy thing
And Mike, we all get old my friend!

you don't wind me up
I don't care enough about what anyone else thinks to be bothered!

I'm no Mod.
but I do remember a little bit about Mod, ie trying to look good?
now being 39, fat and starting to recede I know that a parka, jam shoes, boating blazer, trilby etc etc etc don't look good.
still like button down collars and desert boots but I'm no Mod in everyones idea of what a Mod should be, but would never swap my Mod and Scooterboy experiences for all the tea in China me ole mucker
