Re: PX125 Speedo

Adk, Take out the speedo and put the end of a small allen key in the slot where the speedo goes and see if it will go back to 0 with you turning it, if it doesn't it could be buggered or the mechanism inside has slipped so it is reading 55 as 0, it may just be a case of turning the inside back to 0...

Re: PX125 not running properly

Crayfish, Have you tried to set the mixture screws back to factory settings (scooterhelp has this info I keep forgetting  ), The oil seal may have perished, to check this drop some oil out of the engine and check if it smells of petrol, if so its knackered and will have to be replaced, if the...

Re: T5 Mk1 restoration questions

FREE ADVICE!!!!!!!! Always try to get genuine parts wherever possible, when you buy cheap that is what you get, don't rush in and buy the first thing you see, shop around and not just on e-bay, try to find a good dealer for parts as they do sometimes have good 2nd hand parts for sale also, check ma...

Re: Cured jumpy Gears

Thanks Exsoulagent, I have piddled around with the gear cables a couple of weeks ago and I have got it right (finally) everyone I talk to about gear cables say there is certainly a knack to it, and from recollection there was only one shim on the gears, so for now it is running nicely and I have le...

Re: Cured jumpy Gears

Me, Exsoulagent, It's a PX125 1979, It does not drag, and stays still when I have the clutch in and in gear. Gear selecting is easier now than it has ever been, I feel a big difference when changing down. I matched the cruciform like for like at the shop I get all my bits from. The two things I ha...

Re: Cured jumpy Gears

Yea but what about the shimming the box you haven't put one of the gears in back to front?? I was ever so careful when putting the gears back in, ie stacked them as they came out and zip tied them until I was ready to put them back in, it is ok now I was just wondering about how much you release...

Cured jumpy Gears

Hi all, I have been having a problem where I can go from 1st to 2nd=ok, 2nd to third not ok seems to sit between gears, 3rd to 4th=ok, I tightened up the clutch cable and this cured it for a while, but came back again. So I adjusted yet again and is ok (for now), Previously I could feel the "b...

Re: Mad Van Driver

I only feel confident filtering on dual carriageways, I tend to not overtake much on main roads mainly because of cars turning right without warning or the brilliant taxi drivers doing a u-turn at the drop of a hat, and a lot of car drivers don't stay to the left of the road anyway, oh and my favour...
