Re: Registering without VIN

I agree with Bryno. If you definately can't get a VIN off the frame, shop around for another frame rather than go down the Q plate route. There are always P range frames on eBAY and a couple of dealers can even supply new ones, K+S at Derby springs to mind, no doubt there are others. Q plates are...

Re: How VIN shown on V5

The DGM/IGM is sorta an Italian version of the old BS kitemark. It means that that particular part, in this case the frame design has been tested and passed as fit for use on a motor vehicle. You'll find other parts are also stamped with a DGM number including the one that always puzzles me , the c...

Re: Standard P-range variant photo help

The mk1.5 I have is still badged P200E, Non autolube.

But you are right they are a real crossover model, I've seen some with toggle switches, some with blocks, like you say possibly the factory using up old stocks until supplies of the newer spindles or switches became available.

Re: Standard P-range variant photo help

Add the Mk1.5s to the list. They had mk1 headsets and gloveboxes but lockable panels and 18mm spindles like the MK2 And the American Market Ps. Totally different electrics. Three way ignition switch, transposed handlebar switches, toggle engine kill switch. CEV rear light on a stalk, indicators and...

Re: Vespa super help please

SBWNik wrote:Should it not have a dual seat though Guy? I'm guessing that's Italian spec?

I've had 67 Sprints out of Italy, some had dual seats, some had saddle and pad. I've always guessed that it was an option you got at point of sale.

Re: Value?

You will need a shop invoice for the speedo swap and headlight change, DVLA will insist. DieselDave Is this something new? None of my previous imports have needed anything like that, a kph only speedo is perfectly fine for the MOT (but not for your driving test BTW) and the Italian Headlamps ...

Re: ANYONE SEEN THESE BEFORE ?

Hi Harrysgame

It's not for sale but your interest is noted!.

It's a one off, made by a military badge maker using gold wire. The design is copied from the cog. I presume there are still military tailors with this skill?

Re: PX Speedo Cable Fitting

Do you mean the cable gets stuck part way down? It's getting stuck at the kink where it meets the fork leg Push the outer cable up a bit, thread the inner down till it sticks then pull the outer down a bit, that should drag the inner past the kink. That 7mm(i think) cover retaining nut is really ...
