Re: Flooding carb - needle valve?

Check your float, it may not be floating, I had this with my sprint, there is an overflow hole in the lid above the filter, if the float doesn't float, petrol keeps on flowing. I suggest replacing both float and needle valve.
Good Luck

Wanted Sidecar bracket

I'm after a Squire sidecar bracket to fit a PX, don't mind if it needs painting but the holes need to round, sounds obvious but you get some oval ones.

Re: Sulphamic Acid for Removing Rust from Tank

I have just googled this subject, and your dead right so I bow to your obvious knowledge in this area, my background is organic chemistry and laterly safety, so should have checked before I posted my initial thoughts. my experience of acid based treatments for rust is on cars and is a few years ago...

Re: Sulphamic Acid for Removing Rust from Tank

Niether of these sounds too powerful, your absolutley right about adding acid to water, best poured gently down the side of the vessel and stirr slowly then allow to cool. Good quality rubber gloves is a must, also safety glasses. personally I still prefer the gravel treatment, I guess you should ...

Re: Sulphamic Acid for Removing Rust from Tank

Hi There

I am a chemist, Sulphamic acid is corrosive, and harmful, it or phosphoric for that matter wont neutralise rust, it eats it! souse with caution
using gravel and water followed by extensive drying then sealing is far safer.

Re: PX200E

A 190 sounds a bit big, I had a 120 when running a simonini on my P200 the plug colour was just right, I left the air screw at 1.5 turns. But it too suffered with running out of puff, although it got there quicker. In the end I went back to standard, it pulls up hills better and uses less fuel. T...

Very nice Rally, Where did you get the screen for the PX, and does it do any good. I had a mod screen on mine and it wrecked the handling

Theres one just appeared on E bay, it has lambretta fittings, the bracket for the vespa frame cost £90-£100 from wastsonian squire.

I'm restoring one to go on my old scoot, clad I'm not the only nutter out there
