152l2

Postby lambro on Fri Nov 06, 2009 9:15 pm

I have just bought 1 1/2 Vespa 152L2's.
Main parts are just back from blasters, and the frame is like new.
Only 1 panel will need some light beating.
All the rest is there to build 1 very good straight scooter, engine etc all complete as well.

Question is, do I put a modern engine in it?
Is there any collectable/resale value in these in standard form?

I wouldnt want to ruin what could be a show winner, just for me to blast around on for 6 months and then get bored.

Opinions welcome :)

I also got an original pair of Vigano florida bars with all fittings that need chroming?
Not my cup of tea exactly,
Any value again.

Cheres, Shaun.

Theyre cute but absolutely gutless. I'd have no hesitation at all sticking a P200 engine in it, in fact Ive done just that twice in the past! Wont affect restoring to original later on if you wanted to, its a straight bolt in job.

If either of these resurface for sale, let me know. I quite fancy that idea :D 8" or 10" wheels?

Both were on 8" wheels, although the first one breifly ran 10" rear and 8" front. Can't be doing with 10" converted L2's and sportiques, it looks wrong, the whole thing looks out of proportion as the mudguard is too small.

Not so sure I'd want to run a 200 on those brakes either.

But that is a tad Homosexual, slap an iron Pinasco kit on the Motherfucker along with an electronic ignition and halfways decent carb.

Funnily enough, that would have been stage 2, I could live with the disproportionate look :)

I got a P2 in one of mine i stuck a PK fork in the front and looks alot better with the mudguard than the PX forks. You could always put a 150 super motor in there or re gear your p2 to work with the 8" wheel.

I'd go with regeared P2 with 8". Guesswork says a 150 Super gearbox should work well...even better with an upgear kit.
