fitting a PX200 engine into a GS150

Postby starsky on Tue Oct 06, 2009 11:18 am

hi
i am looking to fit a PX200 engine into my gs150 which i am currently restoring.

i understand you need to cut the frame and use a engine bracket to fit the engine.

has anyone done this before and could give me some advice, also does anyone know where i can get the bracket.
cheers

Niall at Retrospective has done at least one, possibly more. My advice would be simple...don't cut a GS150 frame!! Restore it properly!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! dont do it, nothing wrong with the good old 150 piston ported motor..

But of you do, SIP in Germany do the mounting bracket and there are a couple of threads on the subject either on here or vespa.org.

If you do carry out this piece of vandalism please give me first option on buying the obviously useless 150 engine Graham

Have to admit I'd not touch a VS1-5 chassis vandalisum but if you must I think Big Dave at Scooter Trumps sells the auxilary cradles.

Again, I'd reconsider if I were you.

I have just finished puting a PX engine into my GS frame and I am currently doing another one. There is a little more than cutting the frame. Are you planning to put a disc front end on as well. Check out other threads on the website I have posted pictures ect.
