Im in the midst of trying to register my 1966 vespa.
I have a letter from the vespa club of britain obtained in 2005 stating my scooter was made by piaggio italy, and that its a 1966 super.
The problem is this, the dvla have returned my application as they claim the letter does not give the details of who it was made by, my arguement being that it states "built by piaggio italy" but they say there is no mention of "vespa" in the letter. Despite it being from the vespa club of great britain!
Just got back from the dvla who are argueing the point that it is not clear if my scooter is a piaggio, as stated on the letter, or a vespa.....WTF?? They have accepted my forms again, but the guy claims i will get them back again, and need more proof of what my scooter is.
What should i tell these morons at the dvla?? Have policies changed since the letter was issued in 2005?
Please help, so close to getting it on the road!!
