PX125 Speedo

Postby adk on Thu Nov 05, 2009 11:52 am

Hi all
Not sure where to post but..
I purchased a speedo cable to replace my previous one on my P125X as my speedo stopped working and the needle just sat at 55mph.
When I replaced the cable the speedo started working but it didn't reset back to 0, it starts at 55mph and goes up from there.

Is there anything you could suggest I do to fix this besides buying a whole new speedometer.

Thanks for any help.

Adk,

Take out the speedo and put the end of a small allen key in the slot where the speedo goes and see if it will go back to 0 with you turning it, if it doesn't it could be buggered or the mechanism inside has slipped so it is reading 55 as 0, it may just be a case of turning the inside back to 0, keep me informed, I don't know if these are a sealed unit and you can get at the gubbings inside!

Hi
Sorry so long to reply. I did try spinning it backwards with a smalll screwdriver but to no avail, i looked to see if the unit could be taken apart but it is not very apparent so I guess it could be sealed.

Thanks for coming back..
