Hi everyone!
I recently bought a brand new LX125 (150km on clock) and I am currently in the break-in period.
There a a few things that bother me, so I would really like to get your opinions.
First, I noticed this morning that the oil level is quite low (1st time on road with scooter was 7 days ago). It is almost at the minimum. Is a high level of consuption of oil normal? I thought that maybe it was due to the fact that oil might be sollicited a lot during the first 1000km as engine is losing small pieces of metal, but could this justify such a loss of oil in one week?
Also, I am concerned about the engine's response when I accelerate. The top speed seems to be fine (although I don't want to go past 40 mph for the first 500km), it's the acceleration that bothers me. More especially when the engine is cold, but also when hot, the scooter doesn't accelerate quite well (my old ET4 125 was more responsive than my new LX125...). Is this due to the break-in period as well, or could it be something else? I heard that, the most you use your bike, the most the engine will start "freeing" itself and performances should increase with time. Is that true? Or maybe it's a problem with the carburator or something?
Finally, I can hear a strange noise when I accelerate. I am thinking about the transmission belt... It's a high-pitched noise, sort of "cyclic"... But maybe this kind of noise is normal on new scooters...?
Alright, that's it for now. I know it's a lot of questions and information, so maybe some of you could answer a few pieces here and there... I feel like a 1st time mom asking all these questions, but this is the first time I bought a brand new scooter with my hardly earned money, so I want to make sure I'm doing what's best for it!
Thanks everyone!
Cheers,
BeeLee
