Value?

Postby JuanCojones on Sun Sep 06, 2009 12:54 am

Hi all,

Apologies if this in the wrong section.

Finally going to make the move from smallframe to a PX :) Tired of how hard smallframes are to work on without dropping the engine.

Anyway, I know of a PX150 which I've been asked to make an offer. on My question is what do people reckon is a fair price? Just a rough idea that's all, can't see any for sale at the moment anywhere to compare.

It's a PX150, on Italian plates so I'll need to register it, needs a back light and couple of indicators, has been standing for about 4 years but was running ok before that, paintwork a bit tatty but not that bad, usual minor dings in sidepanels, front mudguard dented and pretty rusty, think the rest is fairly solid.

I know difficult to say without seeing but if anyone can give me a rough suggestion of what to offer that'd be great. Don't want to pay over the odds but don't want to rip him off either.

Thanks.

£250 tops. Theres alot around in that sort of condition, and if it needs a number plate its gonna have to pass an MOT to get it, so needs to be 100% working.

Be sure you have the Italian reg doc's and the import papers too.

You will need a shop invoice for the speedo swap and headlight change, DVLA will insist.

Thanks for the replies.
Was thinking more like £400 but may reconsider now.

Good to get some advice too as I knew nothing about needing to change the speedo and headlight.

Thanks again.

Speedo may not be a problem as long as it is dual marked. There is no longer a requirement for mph to be the dominant measure - see late model PX's, and I think GTs too. Both have mph as the minor scale.

DieselDave

Is this something new?

None of my previous imports have needed anything like that, a kph only speedo is perfectly fine for the MOT (but not for your driving test BTW) and the Italian Headlamps and UK are the same AFAIK.

I have another two to register and I ain't got any invoices!

I also thought you couldn't get a bike out of Italy with plates on??

Naw, dunno where that came from, you do not need to change clocks or headlights to get an imported scooter registered, of course that may be a different story of you happen to be importing an 18 wheel truck! ;)
