Saluting the 300 GTS

Postby leavesontheline on Wed Jul 08, 2009 8:29 am

So after a winter of ice, snow and rain and a daily commute of 110 miles the 300 GTS got me home again last night without complaint through raging floodwater. Just had its 6000 km service (a few thousand late ...) and I can't speak highly enough of it. Brilliant on the motorway and fantastic through busy town traffic in temps as low as minus 2 and as high as 30. I salute it ...

i got caught in a storm on the M3 last night, i got an MP3 400 and can honestly say i've never felt safer on 2/3 wheels, even blasting thru standing water she never flinched, no more hanging on for grim death like the P2 days

I test rode one of these when they first came out(250cc)i did enjoy and John at my local dealer told me to get down the lanes,so i did, very stable machine i rode down the center of the lane where all the gravel and mud collect, great fun although i declined to buy one as i was happy with my X9 at the time.

Returned from France a couple of weeks ago, 5 couples riding 2 x 300's, 2 x 250's and 1 GT200. No problems either way. We did motorway travelling all the way to Antibes stopping overnight at Chaumont.....piss wet through as it was torrential rain after 80 or so miles into France. After overnight stay we set off about 7-ish on Friday morning (26th June), did the rest of the journey to Biot that day in fine, dry weather, got to Camp du Pylone around 7:15pm, quick shower & out for a well deserved pint or two. The GT's were brilliant throughout.
