According to the wife, who at this moment is sitting some tax exams for work, shes doing VAT - i know but it keeps me in scooters - she recons that theres no VAT paid on crash helmets......
When you go into the shop to buy a new helmet - there not supposed to charge VAT on it...
Anyone know.

I remember MAG looking at this some time ago, but I can not remember the out come. If memory serves my correctly, its all about whether they are calssed as safety equipment, which I do not think they where - dispite being compulsary!
Would be worth checking up on though, but not confident of the out come. Unlikely the government would want to loose another tax raising item!!!!!!

No, she has just done the chapter again and a crash helmet is zero rated VAT. its supprising whats less that 15% certain items, but i bet you still get charged it.
