Desperate help needed

Postby coaster on Tue Nov 18, 2008 1:31 pm

Hi, I'm really struggling to find the colour that my 94 T5 Classic is painted. There is no silcer sticker under the seat although there is one near the rear of tyhe fram under the engine side panel. That says VNX 5T, E3 and some other numbers.

The scoot is a matallic maroon colour, I have asked numeroud dealers including MSC but they say they need a piece of bodywork to check the match.

Does anyone else own a 94 T5 Classic of that colour and if so what is the paint code under the seat.

Cheers

Sure you dont mean metallic burgundy? Freds is that colour.. the number you gave is the start of the chassis numbers.
If they're doing the spraying they will be asking for a piece of the bodywork (sidepanel etc) because it will get you a better match-paint weathers and fades so if you just order by the code and have a panel done it will look darker than the rest of the bike, unless they've got something to match exactly to.
There must be a list of the codes somewhere though, its not an uncommon colour..

Cheers anyway, I went to Halfords and bought the closest match I could find. I'll give it a go, also bought some silver so will add asome contrasting stripes to break it up and make any missmatch less obvious.

Thanks for that Ren, that's a stunning lookng scooter. Unfortunately its not the same shade, mine's darker, more maroon.

I have now gone for Rver Nightfire Red pearlescent which is closeish.

After my disapointing efforts in trying to establish my paint code, I rekon it would be useful for a list of all vespa paint codes to be held for current and future owners. I will start a new thread and see what hapens.

Cheers
