I think the original article in the paper was entitled 'Vespa, thy name is death' or something like that. Don't like his 'non-car' ramblings but Top Gear is unmissable.

saw it in MCN. good programme, but he"s becoming a bit of a charicature of himself. talented bloke, quite funny, but he"s got a curly perm. that should be enough to prevent him from ever taking the piss out of anybody. and he looks like he has just ran through AGE CONCERN, with his dark glasses on.......... the man has the dress sense of a convict jailed in 1987 , and thinks he"s still cool when walking out the gates of the scrubs..... . and richard hammond looks like a rabbit in the headlights since the BBC gave him legal brain damage. james may is the coolest bloke this side of the mekong delta..... apart from his mates.and work mates. and clothes. and his caravan. hold on ...........................

James May is a star, his column in the Saturday Daily Telegraph is unmissable reading.

Take a look at the "Have your say" comments below Clarksons column. I think I know Geoff Blackburn, he used to be from Kippax Near Leeds, he once re-built an RD350 motor for a mate of mine called Andy. Almost PMSL at his comments, more so that it was him and I remember him!! Weird that, never happened before.

also liked the idea of a Vespa because most bikes are Japanese. This means they are extremely reliable so you cannot avoid a fatal crash by simply breaking down. This is entirely possible on a Vespa because it is made in Italy.

what is he on about?? thank got he didnt get a lammy.

Agreed Mr M.
Clarkson should donate his hair and fashion sense to scientific research.I suppose at least he never tried to use his mobile phone whilst riding the scooter.
I was told he writes very little of his newspaper columns himself. So we can add illiterate to the list of bad hair and dress sense and the inability to tell the difference between a scooter and a motorcycle.

I thought this article was was typical of Clarkson and its his way of trying to have a laugh, some of it was quite funny and true, not too sure about the engine on the side thing but hey, who cares they are just shopping mopeds and nothing to get uppity about!
