I have just passed the new test for an A2 licence through Passmasters in Ruislip...oh, and im 28 (but thanks for the compliment Graham!)
I have to say that the first module on the track was more daunting than the road test with examiner riding alongside me. There is a speed section of module 1 that requires you to ride in an arc and upon coming out of the apex reach the speed of 50kph or 30mph where you ride through a speed trap and immediately have to make safety manouvres. If you dont reach speed you have to retake the section... which I had to do as the T5 didnt reach the required speed first time around (despite the fact I had absolutely ringed the nuts off the machine in 2nd around the apex and out of the bend). Even my instructors were sceptical and I was told afterwards by the examiner that even HE didn't think I could make it! Apparently, I was the first person at the test centre in Farnborough to pass on a T5 at the time... I think perhaps because I just despised the machine I was on and had no care or thought to how I treated the bike...
Module 2 wasn't really any different I don't think to the old test (not that I tried the old one!). Road safety, awareness and common sense are the main things they want to see. Ironically though I was nearly failed for speeding!
